Cleaned out my CC today; it's AMAZING how much stuff it will hold. Here's most of what was in mine:
* 3 batteries, in boxes
* on-board charger
* first aid kit
* tool kit
* 2 rain suits, one poncho, two hats
* 4 PFDs, plus one doggie PFD (for the fishing dog)
* waterproof chart bag, with charts inside
* cast net
* foot control for trolling motor
* one green Louisiana tree frog, left over from my October 7 trip to the bayou...(amazingly, the little critter is still hopping around!)

I have to say, this Montauk CC appears to hold WAAAY more stuff than my old classic Montauk did. Of course, as I am learning as I get older, more storage space is not always a good thing. You wind up storing crap you shoulda tossed out to begin with.

Hey Marsh, You said you had the foot pedal for the trolling motor. Would you mind saying what trolling motor you're using on the Montauk? I am getting one, but I don't want to drill the non-skid to mount it. Have any advice for a guy on the gulf coast? Got any pictures? Biloxi Blue

Foot pedal came with my riptide motor from MinnKota...I've never used the pedal. Prolly should stop hauling it around. I use 65# thrust, 24V grip-glide model. Got it mounted on a Cabelas slider plate on starboard side of bow. Slides in and out under bow rail real nice. Plenty of pull for the Montauk. Troller has "co-pilot", which is wireless remote control using a small fob mounted on my fishing rod handle. Also has "auto-pilot" feature, which, when activated, automatically keeps troller on same heading. Very nice feature, especially along long straight shorelines, or canals. I highly recommend this outfit. I can email you some pics if you want. Or I may try to link you to some pics I put on a web site called "Photobucket". I'll try that, then post again with the link if Photobucket works.

Marsh what is the shaft length of the trolling motor?
Thanks

I believe3 it's a 48 inch shaft. Longer shaft comes in handy in times when you are stern-heavy. It can always be easily raised to run more shallow, due to the way the grip glide mount works. Still takes up 48" of deck space when stowed, however.

I'm glad I looked at this thread. I have a 18 Dauntless and have been looking for a way to mount a trolling motor on the bow with the bow rail. I might give this a try. Is the cabelas slide mount salt water proof or resistant? I guess I could go to their site.

The mount is powder coated black, or at least appears to be.
