I have been planning my next whaler, even as I finish work on the current one. My temptation is to go larger so I can spend more time in the Bay. With that said I was looking at the specs of the 26 Outrage, built from 1998-2001. It seems to be a light boat with the weight coming in right at what the current 240 is listed at. Lots lighter than the current 270, 800# to be exact but almost a foot longer than the current model.

Any members have a 26/260 and anyone want to comment or share real experiences with the ride and the handling?

Thanks

ps. Yes I have too much time on my hands because the boat is in the shop this week.

I have the 23 Outrage, which is the same set up as the 26 Outrage. I love it and think it rides great. I am sure the 26 would ride even better.

I was looking at the 23 as well. I think the deciding factor will be where the boat will be kept. If I keep it on the river with occasional trips to the Bay I will probably go with the 23. On the other hand if I keep her on the Bay with occasional trips to the ocean and the river, I will probably go with the 26.

Anyone taken a ride on both the 26/260 and the newer shorter but heavier 270?

Since there are plenty of new "faces" around here I though I would bump this to the top. Any 26/260 post classic owners that would like to share some impressions?

Thanks
