Hello folks, got a quik question for ya.
I've got a 2000 Dauntless 18 with a 135 optimax. I somehow managed to pull the wires out of the back of the Smart Gauge and there is no wiring diagram anywhere for this gauge. I took it to a Mercury dealer down the street from me, he took one quik look and told me I'd need a new gauge....after he couldnt' find a wiring diagram in his manuals. Does anyone know of a place on the net where I could find one, or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the gauge they could email me, fax me, mail me? I would really appreciate it!!!

u can e-mail or call mercury customer support. All u need is the serial # of your Opti. They will connect u to customer support. The phone # is listed on Mercury's Web Site as well as their e-mail tech assist form.

What gauge or gauges are you talking about? What year are t he gauges and what year is your Opti? If I recall correctly, the gauges changed in 2001 or 2002. Not sure of the exact date.
I have a 115 Opti and bought the System Monitor 1000. They also have tach and speedo digital gauges. I installed the System Monitor myself but all I had was a data cable to connect in a CAN (Control Area Network)setup.
I don't have any wires to speak of, just a connector similar to what you might find on your pc. Just with different pinouts and the actual connector.
I got my wiring diagram out of my Mercury Service Manual. Well worth the cost by the way. If I can find my extra copy of the diagrams, I could send them to you.
