Hopefully someone else out there with a similar boat has a solution to this problem. My 1996 Outrage 19/20 has a lockable door above the instrument panel that covers another panel where you can mount radios and other electronics. The door is on removeable hinges, i.e. if you slide the door to the left after you open it the pins will slide free of the hinges. Here's the problem: I need to have the door open so I can access the electronics while I am running, however because the door is not captive it will come flying off if you hit any waves. I can not find where BW has provided for storage of the door while it is removed.

What's the solution here? I can't imagine BW missed something this obvious in the boat.

I have a similar door (smoked plexiglass) over the electronics box on my 1999 18' Outrage. I never try to run with it open because it covers all the gauges. I just slide it off and toss it inside the center console wrapped in a towel. If you were really worried about it, you could have someone sew up a nice cloth bag with drawstrings.

On my 1997 21 Outrage, there is storage inside the console. On the inside top of the console, there is elastic bungee cord mounted. The console lid just slides in between the elastic cord and the top of the console.

It took me a while to discover that!

Rich, I think you gave me the answer. It's a bit unorthodox, but there is a bunge cord underneath the lid of the starboard side in-deck box that is probably designed to store the door.

However I like the inside the console idea better. I think I will look for a way to make that work.
