We want a Boston Whaler CONQUEST but are confused with the changes in models and hull designs since 2001. I have a wife, a three-year-old, and maybe one on the way soon. We would like a Boston Whaler CONQUEST with a generator, Air Conditioning (we live in florida). We will use it mostly for day outings for island and beach picnicking.

Is there a big difference between the 2002 275 CONQUEST and 285 CONQUEST?

Is a diesel generator that the new ones have any safer/better than the gasoline generator? If anyone has the time to briefly give me some advice it would be great

One other thing. I would be interested in: any used Boston Whaler CONQUEST boats out there?
Thanks
lucas

Your local Boston Whaler dealer should be able to give you all the details on the differences between these recent models.

You can find numerous 'used' Conquests either on BoatTrader
or Yachtworld, one change is that many of the screws on the old version used on the floor have been eliminated with a smarter floor design. As for gas or diesel generators IMHO diesel is preferable due to safety issues.

Although as you state for day outings I'm not certain why you require AC & generator as these are typical of overniting on the hook.

My 255 Conquest is quite adequate for 'day' outings.

Lucas,
I have a 2002 275 Conquest with no generator. I purchased a Honda U2001 portable and works great. I'm not sure there is a big difference between the 275 and the 285. I love the boat and frequently overnight at our local Islands here in Southern California. Go to www.boattrader.com I saw a sweet 275 with Honda 4 strokes and a gennie and A/c for a great price!

THANKS FOR THE INFO. I saw that whaler with the hondas and on nada.com the price range is 76k-high 80's depending on condition. Tunajoe what do you think i should offer for that boat
ps- I have noticed that whalers are a bit pricier on your coast than mine.
thanks
