I have a 2004 170 Montauk with a Mills Bimini.
I took the boat on a rough day and had the top folded down to front of the boat. I guess when the top is down to the front it's too close to the front cleat and with all the pounding the cleat made a small hole in the top. Does anybody know how to repair the hole??

I do not know how to repair woven Sunbrella fabric.

Any good canvas shop should be able to sew on a patch for that area. If it is an ongoing wear point, have them double the thickness in that spot to prevent future chafe through.

Think outside the box on this one. I went to a few local marine canvas shops and was quoted anywhere from $75-100 to patch a small hole (with MY fabric). A local shoemaker here in the Bronx did a great job and sewed 2 patches on for $10 (and fixed a zipper).

Another source for repairs is awning shops. As soon as you say "marine" the price increases by a power of 10.

If your color is the medium blue, I have some Sunbrella fabric I can give you.

Only drawback to using a shoemaker is the thread. I'm guessing that they don't use a thread that can withstand the elements as well as a canvas man's thread (although I don't know that for a fact).
