My livewell pump quit working on my 2002 Dauntless 160. Does anyone know if this is an easy replacement? I'm not even sure where the pump is located. I have the factory livewell option under the reversible pilot seat. It worked for four years, but wouldn't come on when I put it in the water after sitting over the winter. I tried reseting the breaker, but still didn't hear the usual hum of the livewell pump. The light in the switch comes on, so I assume the pump is getting power. Thanks for any ideas

The pump should be under the hatch just forward of the engine. There are two pumps there, one is your bilge. Check the wire connections first. But, I would imagine the replacement is fairly easy. Brent |

I had the same problem on my 2001 Dauntless 160. To prove I had electrical power, I cut the wires near the pump and checked w/ a meter. I had power, so thinking something might have jammed in the pump, I shot water through the pump in reverse w/ a garden hose and reconnected the wiring. Still no luck. The pump and through hull were one piece, making the job more complicated, so I had my dealer do the work. I had him replace the old unit w/ a motor & pump cartidge that can be easily replaced without removing the through hull fitting. He also added a strainer/screen to the through hull fitting. Good luck. |
