I have a 1999 Conquest 23. [Expresses an interesting in information about an] upgrade to the live well. Any feedback would be welcomed.

I believe the compartment under the port side rear seats is already plumbed to be a livewell if you have the fishing package. The starboard side compartment is identical and can be plumbed too with a new pump and minimal work.

What exact upgrade are you interested in doing?

I've read articles that round or circular wells are better. In addition, have the water intake at more than one point is optimal. I was envisioning a entirely new system/set up.

Circular and oval livewells are certainly better for bait. I have seen one 23 Conquest when I was boat shopping with an oval tank mounted on the swim platform. Other than that one I think everyone just uses the factory rigged livewell under the port seats.

When I plumbed my 2nd livewell, I wanted a separate water pickup too but cutting another thru-hull was not something I want to do with the boat. So I just used a T-fitting to tap into the existing water pickup.

Good luck.
