Author	Topic:   Mercury 25 hp 2-stroke on 130 Sport?
skookum point	posted 12-28-2006 01:34 PM ET (US)         Is anyone here running a 25 hp 2-stroke Mercury on a 130 Sport? I know it's a great motor for the classic 13 but with the 130 being so much heavier I'm wondering about its ability to plane, top speed and optimum propeller size. In the 2001 Whaler brochure I see a 130 powered with a 30 hp 2-stroke Mercury pulling a knee-boarder. That's surprising to me.
Royboy	posted 12-28-2006 10:39 PM ET (US)             I had the 25hp four stroke on my 130 Sport, and it ran fine after I found the right prop. A little doggy prior to that, however. It depends on what you intend to use it for. Skiing will likely be a struggle. Roy
