Anyone have a source for a 7/8 inch inside diameter "split" tee for use when adding a stanchion for the bow rail on my 2004 Montauk 170? I want to use a splitter in order to avoid cutting the rail as would be required to use ordinary tee. Guess I could weld it, but I don't know any welders.

this may be too late for you but here it is. I recived a 190 Montauk last week and suspect that with all the front loading we do on the river bank that the bow rail will be stepped on and bent. I do not want to cut the rail to install the "tee" with the Hot Dog method. after much looking I found the product. It is offered by "Seadog"
It is called a Sea dog hinged rail tee fitting. comes in 7/8 and 1 inch., 60 or 90 degree. go2marine carries them, low 20's of dollars. Will have pictures after I have installed if anyone wants.
thanks

Roadtrip:
Thanks for the tip...I had already found one, sourced from a company in Canada. Price wasn't too bad, but the exchange rate, and exchange fee surprised me. Wound up around $30.00 U.S., if I recall corectly, by the time VISA took their bite for their "currency exchange" service.

Anyhow, thanks again,

Marsh
