My new to me Dauntless is rigged with a 150hp 2 stroke Evinrude Ocean Runner on a jackplate and has a 4 blade, 16" stainless prop. (Former owner used it to ski). It has great holeshot but maxes out @40mph and tends to creep over the 5500rpm limit if not careful. It rides best trimmed down with the jackplate not raised but some times the prop slips. I think I would be better off with a 3 blade, 17" prop. Any suggestions? Also-Do Yamaha props work on Evinrudes? (neighbor has one I can try) Thanks!

Masbama,

Here is a thread that might help. I asked the same question (I have a different motor though) a while back. I bought an 15.5" x 17 pitch aluminum prop but really haven't had chance to test it. I think my tach is acting up so it makes it kind of impossible to test WOT anyway.

Did you happen to buy the Dauntless at a dealer in Lewisville, TX? If so, I came really close to buying it just to take the stern storage/seat box and the cushions off of it.

Anwyay, here is the link. Hope it helps.

Where is Lewiston; is it near Frisco? My cousin bought the boat and we met in LA. I live in Mobile.
