Hi all,

My Whaler is a 2000 21’ Outrage.

The yard took my batteries out last year and I stored them away for the winter. I now have the boat and the batteries back together at my home and I am not sure exactly how they get wire up. Could wait to talk to the yard, but then I thought of you all. Most of the connections are pretty straight forward accept two of them. So far I have connected the one thick Black to each battery’s Neg Terminal (one wire that connects both batteries together). Then the two thick Reds go to each battery’s Pos Terminal. Then I have a couple of small black and reds that go on each battery. It’s these remaining wires that I am questioning what to do with. One of them is black and the other is a faded green color. They are wrapped tight together and run into the boats main wring harness (at least that is what it looks like to me). The hardness is covered with a black plastic ribbed tub blocking of view of things. Ok, are these the grounds for the boat, do they just go on one battery? Does it matter which one they go on or do I connect one to each battery’s Neg Terminal?

Thank for the help in advance.
-Pat

The black is your helm ground, the faded green is your fuel tank/fill bonding wire. Terminate both at the battery that is your "house" battery, usually the starboard battery. Then, your good to go.
