petrieme	posted 08-06-2008 10:37 PM ET (US)         A co-worker probably needs to unload his barely used 2005 Montauk 170 fairly quick. It's basically in like-new condition with the 90hp 4 stroke. The range on these seem to run 18,500-21k. Am I mistaken or isn't the "show special" on these around 20k? What's the lowest you've seen these sell for?
chopbuster	posted 08-06-2008 11:45 PM ET (US)          Boston Whaler has previously published data that claims a three (3) year old 170 Montauk will retain Appx. 78% of its original retail value. Annual costs are Appx. $1,652.
SC Joe	posted 08-07-2008 09:34 AM ET (US)             The local dealer is advertising a "new" 2007 Montauk with a bimni and fishing package for $23,400. It is/was a demo boat. However the 2008 models are basicaly stripped, and are starting at around $26,900. Hope that helps.

Feejer	posted 08-07-2008 11:07 AM ET (US)             I bought my 2005 last spring, fishing package bow cushion etc.... for 20.5K. Last month I had a neighbor offer me 20.7K for the boat. He had no idea what I paid for it. That what I call great resale vaule
