I need to remove the factory transducer to fit a different unit and I am wondering how to extract the existing wire from the transom without destroying it. It looks like it has been 5200ed in.

Have discovered that 5200 is really hard to remove and that it provides a really good bond. One disappointing thing is that once I cleared the 5200 from the hole that was drilled thru the transom it was clear that the wood was wet. The hull had all options fitted at the factory, which makes me wonder how water tight the wood in the transom really is. I guess it can never be completely dry as it is a boat and it is exposed to water! Another interesting thing is that 5200 does not stick to the transducer wire casing, though it would not budge wen I pulled, it came away clean with no residue at all.
