Whaler has performance data on the 230 DAUNTLESS with a 225-HP and a 250-HP Verado motor. My general impression of the test data presented by Boston Whaler is that it is accurate and provides good data that has been carefully collected by their own testing and evaluation process.

See:

http://www.whaler.com/site_media/Performance_Data/230DA_EnginePerf.pdf

Looking at those results it appears the only significant difference between the 230 DAUNTLESS performance with the two motors is a gain in the top speed of the boat to 51.9-MPH with the 250-HP motor from a top speed of 49.2-MPH with the 225-HP motor.
