I noticed an opening hatch below the double sinks. This is on the rear wall facing to stern, installed into the area below the fold down seat. My 1992 Offshore 27 does not have this hatch.

In photos of Robs (Macdougall70) 1992 Offshore 27 the hatch is clearly visible. Was this original, option or aftermarket on this hull? Does anyone know? This would make access to the area under the seats and sinks much easier.

My 1991 Offshore does not have a hatch below the sinks. Only access is one hatch on the starboard side - the port side has a fishing locker. A rear acess door would really be a good addition.

I guess I will have to E-mail Rob or Contender25 directly. A opening hatch in this area would really help with access. I can barely get in through the side opening but then cannot move my arms very well.

I can't bear the thought of cutting a 20in X 30in hole in the fiberglass just yet to install a hatch, as I've only owned the boat a few weeks.

I have been focused on clean up and some rewiring and should be ready to splash her soon.

COINJAM is the rear of your fishing locker supported between the bottom shelf and the deck?

Conch, I've got her put away for the winter about 200 miles away....Will let you know next time I'm over there. It really is a pain squeezing in the side...

Conch-

My Offshore 27 does not have this hatch either but I have seen it on a few others, Rob's is one. You are correct it would be great for added access.

Mine has access on the port and starboard sides of the tackle station, I once crawled in and got stuck, not a god time and the hose clamps for the sinks are quite sharp!

I will be back down in the keys for most of May and would love to see your new addition. I actually just added to our fleet with a boat that matches your user-name a Conch 27.

Contender25- the Conch 27 is nice, seems like a custom builder right here in Florida,I have purchased a triple axle trailer if you need to borrow one.

I've been away from CW for a few weeks,so sorry for the delay.Hope you can swing by in May or any other time,as we are usually around.

I have lots of OFFSHORE 27 questions and really no paperwork at all.

Towing the OFFSHORE 27 with a Ford F150 Supercrew FX4 is a pucker factor of around 7.5 and I only went two miles but the boat was improperly on the trailer (30 inches to far forward and full fuel).

Running 500 Hp at 5600 RPM jackplates up and trimmed out --- priceless .You would need to chisel the grin off my face.

I'll send an E-mail with contact info to you.

Chuck
