Under my gunwales I have starboard racks for rod storage, two per side. At the aft end of the rod storage are two molded and recessed into the vessel "tubes" which hold the butt ends of the rods. All four of these tubes are cracked and broken and I'd like to replace them. Unfortunately these parts seems to be glued to the vessel (may be difficult to remove) and additionally I can't find these specific parts listed in Whaler's parts guide for the vessel.

Anyone ever replace these or know a source for replacement parts??

My 255 had similar tubes, they are black flexible plastic and secured at the outside with a white flange and screws and on the inside with a tie wrap holding them up. I had to remove the pocket insert to gain access but they can be replaced easily. I just gave 4 of them away with the sale of my Conquest and use one in my living room behind a sofa. Check with Whaler CS and your local dealer. You should be able to see them on the Whaler drawing.

From the 2006 Conquest 305 parts listing;

HOLDER, ABS BW305CQ-04 FISHING ROD PRT WHT #1760624

You didn't specify the year of your Conquest but I don't think they have change this part.

I saw some on Ebay when browsing through some Whaler parts. I has used the search term "whaler parts" under the auto/boat section of the site. I saw them about a week or two ago.

They are glued in with a special glue. Similar to how the decks are bonded to the hulls.

Thanks guys, I was able to find the part number :-)

So any thoughts on the "special glue" and how to remove the broken ones??
