While getting ready for the season to begin I scored a deal on some Cannon Mag 10's. With my former Conquest running power to the riggers was easy because the batteries were located aft. On the Eastport I need to find a way to route electrical from the console to the stern areas for 12v connectors. Starboard shouldn't be too difficult by running under the gunnel, but the Port side will present a challenge. I know there is a conduit that runs from the starboard console area to the bilge. But what route is available to come up under the port gunnel?
At the same time I'd like to install some courtesy lighting under both gunnels. Any of you 205 owners have some suggestions?
thanks

When I ran my cockpit lights to the port gunnel I dropped my entire cabin roof and ran my wire over the top of my cabin. I installed the wire inside of a slitted conduit to ensure I didn't end up with a short from abrasion. Try to think of anything you might consider running to the port gunnel while you have the top ceiling down (speakers, lights etc.)and run the wires now. You will not want to go through this again.

Thanks for the tip Ed
What's it like taking down that headliner? I'm going to have a look at that this weekend while up north. Hopefully it's just taking out a bunch of screws to remove it and replace.
Guess while I'm in there I should install a few extra leads for future use.

It's a real bugger, very tight. You will have to take the screws out of the cabin light and if I'm not mistaken also the electrical access door has to come out. You will have to drill a hole in the port bulkhead to get your wires to the gunnel.

I decided to pull the center floor panel - tank cover to get access instead. Everything is right there. While in there I put a 'T' on the seacock and added a washdown pump too. Taking earlier advice I installed some addl leads for future use to hopefully avoid pulling the floor again soon.
Now comes the fun part of cleaning up the old sealant/caulk and redoing it. Chuck from the factory told me to use SikaSil AC Plus to reseal but I can't seem to find it on the internet. I'll contact Sue at TwinCities to see if they have it/can order it. I’m going to put a post on GAM to see if any of the classic folks have experience with Sikasil or a substitute
