I'm considering buying a 17 foot Dauntless dual console. I want to use it for taking the family out riding and tubing but I also love to fish on lake Erie for perch and walleye.

It looks like the fishing may be awkard from the pictures I've seen. There are sometimes 4 or 5 of us fishing.

Should I just keep looking for a Montauk or Outrage ?

Does anyone here own one of these and do any fishing from her?

Thank you for any input.

I would imagine the dual console interfering with fishing. You will be limited mostly to the rear, without the ability to easily move throughout the boat.
(I've got a Dauntless 15)

Thank you, this is what I was thinking would be the case, just being able to fish off the rear.

I think the center console versions might better suit your needs. If its doable, go with a 17' or 18' boat as well. I eventually went with a Montauk 190. I have three young kids and it is very comfortable for family trips.
We fish Lake Erie very often for yellows and 'eyes.

Thank you whaler, that's the way I'm leaning. I've been looking for a 17 footer. Should be easy to handle alone and will fit in the garage when I need it to.
