southshore fisherman	posted 06-14-2011 06:55 PM ET (US)         I'm considering buying a 17 foot Dauntless dual console. I want to use it for taking the family out riding and tubing but I also love to fish on lake Erie for perch and walleye. It looks like the fishing may be awkard from the pictures I've seen. There are sometimes 4 or 5 of us fishing. Should I just keep looking for a Montauk or Outrage ? Does anyone here own one of these and do any fishing from her? Thank you for any input.
andrey320	posted 06-16-2011 06:16 PM ET (US)             I would imagine the dual console interfering with fishing. You will be limited mostly to the rear, without the ability to easily move throughout the boat. (I've got a Dauntless 15)

whaler007	posted 06-19-2011 07:57 AM ET (US)             I think the center console versions might better suit your needs. If its doable, go with a 17' or 18' boat as well. I eventually went with a Montauk 190. I have three young kids and it is very comfortable for family trips. We fish Lake Erie very often for yellows and 'eyes.
