Gents - After scouring (no pun intended) the search engine on this topic...I came up with many 'fixes' once the windshield is scratched or mildly damaged. However, what do you guys use for the simple, day to day cleaning? I found a manufacturers sticker sternly warning about not using commercial window products like Windex..... What have you all had success with....I'm on Boston Harbor with very sticky, salty waters. Thanks in advance.....

I normally use lots of fresh water and a clean microfiber towel. I often trailer my boat long distances, and as a result end up with bugs splattered across the windshield. If the water and towel won't remove the bugs, I carefully use my fingertips and/or finger nails to remove them, again with lots of fresh water being applied. I also occasionally wash my windshield with mild boat soap and a microfiber cleaning mitt, again, with lots of clean fresh water being applied. |

I second recommendation for Plexus by Milepost43. I've been using it for four years on the windshield and gauges. It is costly but in my opinion well worth it. |

You should check out the meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber protectant for all windshields and any isenglass cleaning. It does not contain ammonia which is tough on center console windows and clear isenglass. It cleans, lubricates & protects all in one.I miss New England fishing (1982-1989) comapred to what we have out here. The only bummer was the time window, but man it was always so reliable back there. |

After cleaning, I have tried colonites, insulstor wax on it with good results. It is the same wax I use on my ladies Corvette, if that tells you something. |

When towing long distance, use pam cooking spray or wrap your windshield in saran wrap |
