After working here in Houston for the last year I final got a trip back to our house in Thailand My 210 had sat for over 12 months on the driveway and only one battery had only been trickle charged occasionally by one of the site workers, so he said. I had hoped after taking the wraps off the boat would of just been a little dusty, what I had not banked on was the rain in Thailand had completely cleaned my covers and dumped 3 years of red sand accumulated in the, UAE that had now dried on every surface. A good day of washing soon had the boat looking a lot better but the upholstery will need some more conditioning on my next trip back What really impressed me was with such poor battery state as the power lift seems stained, old fuel my ETEC sprang in to life with the barest of cranking Apart from the fuel bulb now over exposed to UV, one swivel joint on my kicker steering arm is rusty and the outriggers poles have some pitting on the ali shafts. My biggest disappointment is all the barrel screws that hold my fish box lids on had rusted away, although the anchor box lid seems ok I hope these are easy to find now I'm in the US plus a few parts on the trailer that got damaged in shipping Seems I got off lightly Regards |

Hi Steve. Welcome back. Did you take any pictures of the boat before washing? |

Steve, My father had those same screws rust out on his 210 Outrage last year. Sue at Twin Cities Marine sent him replacements easily at a very low cost. |

Great to see you have your 210 Whaler sorted after doing your stint away from home. I have in the past had to nick off overseas to forfill an engineering contract. The best thing is coming back and catching up with old friends and sorting out your toys.... |

Sue at Twin Cities Marine has helped me out for parts too. She goes out of her way to get it right. |

Hi SJUAE, I had a similar problem on my boat. I just cleaned out the holes and poured in epoxy resin and then used s/s self tacking screw. The other way is fix down with small s/s bolts with nyloc nuts. Seal with silicone. |

I had the anchor locker lid come off because of the brass threaded inserts corroded away.I used stainless "t"nuts from Ace hardware, used the ones that don't have nail points to hold onto what ever they are used on.Worked out great and will be using the same methode for the fishboxes. The only thing is you have to use next size longer screws.I think they are called "blind t-nuts".Nice looking Whaler Steve. |
