Bob - The only down side to my rear rollers was I had a limit in how far to submerge the trailer. This was only a problem on very steep ramps. The Eliot ME ramp on to the Piscatisqua was tricky since it is very steep at low tide and the tidal current can be wicked at full ebb. I preferred the roller...

You are correct. I knew someone might spot that so I posted the photo just to illustrate it is a threaded tube to assist TG in removing it.

I could not open the electronic Perko catalog to show a close-to-OEM fitting.

For any repower, check the new engine weights and evaluate how the boat will sit. Add weight to the stern and observe trim at rest and general handling at speed.

Prop suggestions will be engine dependent.

http://www.e-components.net has long been the source for replacement direct read mechanical and remote gauges and senders.

I think it is going to take someone actually trying a e-components direct read gauge with a newly designed tank from FMT.

If looking for better performance, consider changing to stainless steel and not aluminum. This will affect pitch size since size is not universal across brands and models.

While both Outrage 19 and Outrage 17 II's are great boats, LOA is king.

There could possibly be a loose wire or a loss of ground if the control includes the neutral safety and kill switch.

Try fixing before replacing. Remove all the tape and inspect. Why is the tape there? Is the control loose? Try tightening the mounting hardware.

Do a pressure test on the tank (no more than 4 PSI). Think you will find a hole or a bad seal.

Forgot to ask, are the hoses alcohol resistant? IF they are, it is written on it and there is a red stripe on the outside of the hose. That may be the culprit.

It could be the pump has the "auto-sensing" feature. If so, when dash switch is in the "on" position, it is auto sensing for water and will discharge water once detected.

Some testing with the switch and some water placed in the bilge will be telling.
