ID 1992 Montauk 17 Government Build

Postby michaeljdodd » Sun Jun 21, 2026 8:05 pm

I recently purchased a 1992 Boston Whaler Montauk 17 and am trying to learn more about the boat’s construction. BW could not help.

Hull Identification Number (HIN): 59930292
CG-160521 Type SKB

I think it was originally built for a the DNR. Has a starboard side console and not front rail.

• Specifications or owner’s information
• Construction details for the hull and deck
• Wood locator or reinforcement diagrams showing embedded backing material

I am particularly interested in understanding what reinforcement materials may be present in the forward port bow no-slip- area deck area. Mounting a trolling motor. Pilot holes looked like just foam.

Any documentation, diagrams, or references you can provide would be greatly appreciated

Thanks.
