1989 Montauk Navigation Lamp: Replacement Lighbulbs

The [miniature incandescent electric] lightbulbs are missing [from] both the [combined sidelight lamp] and the [white all-round lamp] [on a 1989 Boston Whaler MONTAUK]. I tested [for] voltage and [the lightbulb sockets] do have power.

[What miniature incandescent electric lightbulb] type and model fits in the factory sockets? Thank you!

Usually the original navigation lamps used a miniature incandescent electric lightbulb with a BA15 bayonet base. It is hard to say exactly what the lamp fixtures on your boat will use without seeing them. But the single filament bayonet base size BA15 is quite common.

I am not certain about the lightbulb model. Several owners have commented in prior postings that they thought the lightbulb was a 57. Compare at

I don't think the lightbulbs are particularly exotic.

An alternative that produces a brighter light output is the #67. Compare at

I replaced all my running lights on my 86' Montauk with LED's. I was able to track down a few website which sell 'super bright' LED equivalent bulbs. I am very happy with the new bulbs and the minimal use of power.
