![]() ![]() ![]() Skiing behind the Whaler Guardian 20 is awesome! Plenty of power (Johnson 225), but drinks a fair amount of fuel! Gotta pay to play, however. That said, I need some off topic help from you old timer experts! I'm trying to identify the brand of an old wooden, concave slalom ski I've owned since about 1974. It's a professional ski, and extremely well made. I refinished it a very long time ago ago and had Maharaja painted on it thinking it was a Maherajah...I don't think it is....I wrote to Bob Maher about 10 years ago and he thought maybe it was a Velbro?? if memory serves. I also found a Vogue ski on ebay that is similar looking....anyone have any guesses on what mine is? No name on it anywhere. Here's the Vogue link: Thanks, Chuck in Aiken, SC |

![]() ![]() ![]() I've got a couple of vintage Wally Burr slalom skis that look just like that. |

![]() ![]() ![]() My friend makes longe chairs out of garbage pick wooden skis. I am trying to do the same but not easy to find anymore. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Definitely not an El Diablo by Cypress Gardens, that one has a grooved bottom, this one is laminated like 4 different kinds of wood, very think in the middle, gets thinner at front and rear, as well as narrower front and rear. Professional high boots, too. Take a look at an el diablo: http:/ / cgi. ebay. com/ VINTAGE-CYPRESS-GARDENS-EL-DIABLO-WOOD-WATER-SK I_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1205Q7c24 0Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZ item29ff14e107QQitemZ180373217543QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f2QQsalenotsup ported |

![]() ![]() ![]() Not a Terry or Taperflex, wrong lamination, rudder and boots. Still wondering if Velbro, built by Dale Velzy, a famous surfer. Vogue is the only other one that looks even close....anyone got a Vogue with photos? |

![]() ![]() ![]() May still be a dpj/cypress garden ski. I don't think their earlier skis had that grooved bottom. I recall the dark/light wood pattern. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Could it be a Cypress Gardens Alfredo Mendoza? Same era as Dick Pope. I learned to slalom on one. |
Nauti Tauk |
![]() ![]() ![]() Possibly a Little Monster? Cypress Gardens,concave bottom,short ski,very fast and tended to "hook". |
