I'm looking at buying [a 1995 Yamaha 75hp C75TLRT outboard motor]. I was surprised when I looked at it that it did not have oil injection. All the 70-HP motors I've looked at have had the oil tank. Is this a special motor Yamaha produced? I checked the compression and had 105-PSI on all cylinders. Are these good numbers? If you own one of these is there any thing special I should be looking for? Thanks Bill

Simple, reliable, working man's motor. Even compression is good, not looking for 130, it is a commercial motor. As with all outboards, check for corrosion, test run on boat if possible. Idle on hose doesn't tell you much. If you pass [on buying it], email me the details. Thanks MartyD |

The "C" prefix model designator generally means commercial version. They often do not have automatic oil and gasoline mixing. |

The 75 is a detuned 90 and does not have oil injection. C does not stand for Commercial as far as I know. |
