The pictures shown so far have set a high standard, but if you have a nice image of you and your Boston Whaler boat that can fit in this company, please don't be shy. Post a link to it. We'll keep this thread going until the end of the week, at least. If it gets too long, we'll make a PART-2 addendum.

Continues from

Favorite Whaler Pictures of 2006--PART 1

I separated the article into two parts, as it was getting a bit long to load with all the large images included.

Me at the helm of the 18 Outrage on the Piscataqua River in Eliot, Maine headed for the Mass/NH/Maine Whaler rendezvous in York. Unfortunately though I never made it, sorry Phil and Kyle.

Afternoon ride in the Outrage with my oldest daughter. Wychmere Harbor, Cape Cod, MA.

2 Finnish Girls, my wife Jonna and her friend Kati on a cruise in the Revenge 22 on July 4th 2006.

Happy kids heading out of the harbor on Memorial Day '06.

A cat and 2 Whalers: First boat is a 12' Cape Cod Beetle Catboat, behind it is our '89 Revenge22 W-T WD, and just beyond that is a 1999 20' Whaler Ventura.

A nice shot of me and Ichthus after beautiful morning of chasing King Salmon on the St. Mary's River, Drummond Island, July 2006. My dear sweet wife, Karen walked all the way around the boat basin to get this photo.

"Ichthus" is a 1999 Outrage 17 with a 135 Merury Optimax. I had only owned her for a few months when the picture above was taken. Regardless, I managed to equip her in that short time with an Icom M302 VHF Radio, Garmin GPSMAP76CS, Auxilliary deep cycle battery, 6 HP Johnson Auxilliary engine on a folding bracket, Two banks of 3-place rocket launchers (rod holders), two additional flush-mount rod holders, two clamp-on Perko rod holders, two manual downriggers on gimbal mounts, and an AM/FM CD player with two marine speakers.

The photo was taken on Drummond Island, Michigan in the small boat basin that came with the cabin we rented for under $500 for the week (the small cottage on the left in the picture). It also came with a private boat ramp and a 14 foot aluminum boat that, needless to say, we had no use for. We had a splendid time fishing and exploring the myriad of small islands, and just messing about in our boat. I managed to land a King Salmon or two most every day we went out. A highlight of the trip was when my middle daughter's boyfriend asked my permission for her hand while we were out fishing one morning. He's a fine young man, and not without courage, as we were fishing in 200 feet of water, a couple of miles from shore at the time.

Oops--Forgot to re-open thread after I spent the morning working on it. No wonder no new pictures!

A couple of comments:

WT--The "Humbolt squid" from 1,000-feet below. Wild. If anything like that lands on my Whaler, it is going immediately back where it came from. You saltwater fishermen are on a different level than we freshwater pan fishers.

waver--We have passed through Blind Channel a couple of time. I am happy to report we missed that rock. But it is a very interesting picture.

rjgorion--I think I see a GAM ELECTRONICS antenna on your fine Boston Whaler classic. (Confirmed via email.)

Whaler_bob--that blue hull interior looks fabulous!

I really love all the pictures. Keep them coming. Sorry for the delay in re-opening the thread!

NOTE: To be able to include the image in-line the source must permit direct linking to the image. It looks like GOOGLE does not allow that. You need to host the image somewhere that allows direct linking to it. Your own web space on your ISP home website is probably best.

Also, images files should not be larger than 800x600 pixels otherwise the file size become ridiculously large. Some images suggested are much too large.

This Conquest on the Croatian Adriatic hails from Michigan but now resides in Dubrovnik Croatia. Anyone familiar with this area will know that it rivals Greece for the number of gorgeous islands, with ancient towns, seaside restaurants and crystal clear water-perfect for fishing, diving and just about any other family boating activity one can imagine. The Conquest is a perfect fit and, oh by the way, it just happens to be unsinkable.

A couple of folks didn't have a photo host and sent me some interesting pictures of their Boston Whaler boats, so I am hosting them for this thread. But we need some comments, and let's have the owners follow up with more information on those boats and those locations.

Nick--I was scrolling through the pictures and saw you on the beach down there in Florida. I had to go to the refrigerator and get a beer, even though it is almost 1 a.m.! So I am having a Bell's Winter White Ale in your honor. You're lookin' good there, buddy. And Janis--You're a doll!

I think that Manitoulin SPORT 15 picture is fabulous. I'm gonna frame that one!

Jeff--Good picture with your dad. I wish I had a chance to take my dad out on my Whaler. He passed away about eight years ago, back in my sailboat days. We did get him out on the sailboat once.

That big lift holding up the Whaler looks like a monster robot.

Thanks, everyone, for the great pictures. Still time for a few more 2006 Favorites.

Jim,
Thanks for posting the pics. Yes, that forklift was huge and I was a nervous reck the entire time it was up there. I hated to pay for the forklift but it was just myself and the girls and there was no one to drive the truck or the boat back from the ramp about 4 miles away. My little girl did not feel comfortable doing it with her lack of local knowledge and all the shallow water in the Keys. The lift cost was the most reasonable cost that week at $40.00. Considering the slip, fuel, and the trailer storage was high.
Thanks again and have another beer on us!

Many months of hard work, sanding, filling, staining, sealing, epoxy, 2 part poly, wet sanding, polishing, waxing are topped off with a new motor. I can't tell you how pleased I was with the end result.

Forgot to mention how surprised and pleased I was the motor matched the gelcoat so well. Too bad I did not have the ambition to powder-coat the jack-plate the same color. That hideous black in between really bugs me.

Kingfish, We actually do call them Pickerel here in Manitoba( Lake Winnipeg) and Northwestern Ontario( Lake of The Woods)
I called them Walleye because that`s what you Americans like ;)

Here's my two Whaler projects that I finished in 2006. I think it is time that I take a break from projects for a while to enjoy the fruits of my labor!

I don't care *what* you call them, I just like to eat 'em!!

(You can call me anything - just don't call me late for dinner...)

I replaced the mahogany and customized this 13 for a friend. It was fun designing the console! I put a Pate Plastics fuel tank under the aft seat soon after this was taken. The overall style is similar to Flipper's.The boat is now in North Carolina I think.

Here are a couple of my Dauntless14. I am outclassed by the quality of others but will get some better shots next season.
