I am a new BW owner and just purchased a 230 Dauntless. One of the things I am trying to figure out is what might be available to help facilitate occasional overnights with the kid(s). Is there a company that makes a bow tent or modified dodgers to cover the bow for an overnight?

When did you purchase the boat and have you taken delivery? If so can you post some info about performance numbers and how it compares to other similar boats. Where and how will you be using the boat?
I saw the 230 Dauntless at the Atlantic City Boat Show yesterday and think the boat has some great features.

I purchased the 230 dauntless at the Baltimore Boat Show a few weeks ago and will take delivery sometime in March. I went with the 250hp option with 50mph top speed (not that I need that speed). Whaler has the additional performance info on their website.
I traded from a 17' Montauk to give our family (3 kids) more space for our skiing, fishing needs and well as the kids/us taking more friends aboard. I really liked the low freeboard and 12" draft for both skiing and fishing purposes (in addition to the attractive lines in my opinion). I added the activity tower for the water sports mainly. I was initally going to go with the 200 Dauntless, but when I saw how much extra room the 230 provided, especially in the bow with raised seat backs, I changed to the 230.
As far as use, I trailer alot (5,400 lbs - fully loaded with gas, motor, trailer, etc) and haul my boat to Maine every year, but our main use is in MD (Chesapeake Bay and local lakes).

You should both come down to the Potomac River Swim (5/31/08) and the Chesapeake Bay Swim (6/8/08) this spring, so we can ALL compare your two lovely boats!

Do you still have your 230? And, did you procure a dodger for the bow area? I'm thinking of doing the same for our Dauntless 220.
