Hi everyone, I`m new here. I want to buy a classic Boston Whaler, model sport 15 or similar and bring it back home to Croatia (Europe). There is hard to find this boat here and they are very expensive. I had an opportunity to try BW 15 sport and I like this boat very much. Sorry about my English! Thanks! Kristijan |

There have been 5 members (that I remember) who have purchased a used or new Whaler in the US and had it shipped home. One went to Australia There are several posts that list all the details and their story. Bottom line - It takes a LOT of organization, attention to the smallest of details and patience. A good shipping agent on the USA end and proper packing for transit are vital. Here are a few threads I found using the search engine (above NEW TOPIC) using the words "import+whaler" http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/014406.html |

JayR sold his Outrage to a guy in the Netherlands and the buyer had it shipped over. |

Hi Kristijan
I would think a 15 would be easier as it would fit inside a standard 20' Container. Your seller has to furnish all the correct documentation to the shipping agent and be prepared to sign a power of attorney appointing the shippers as his agent. Therefore you need to find a seller who is prepared to got the extra distance to assist with the shipping. I would be more than happy to give you more details if you care to either e-mail me or PM me. Regards AJ |

... so it is possible! Seems lots of paperwork..., shipping, certification of conformity (?), buyer-seller confidence, patience, extra money, extra time,... First I`ll find what Croatian regulations says about importing a boat from USA. Then I`ll find my whaler! Thanks for replies! Best wishes Kristijan |

I never said it was easy. But it is possible. The first seller I contacted backed out when the shipper asked for him to sign the Power of Attorney. But yes paperwork,, then more paperwork, seller trust and co-operation then more paperwork. |

Hi Power of Attorney gives the shipping agent the legal power to act on behalf of the seller. He is then empowered to sign all the doucmentation etc. |
