This is a great Time-lapse video that David Remsen put together of their Boston Whaler doing ice breaking duties at the Marine Biological Institute in Woods Hole, Mass. The cool thing is, that the Whaler in the video is a 21 Ribside Outrage that they have owned since new. Even cooler, it is hull #001. Yes, the very first Outrage ever produced. So after 45 years of this kind of duty, the boat is still in use and performing like a Whaler should. David says the boat gets used every day….well, every day except for when it is frozen into ice as it is now. 790226264347998/

That is quite a story about HULL #001. I can't see the link--don't have a Facebook log-in. I am sure it is a good one.

I can attest to the abilities of a Whaler at breaking ice. I prefer the bow shape of the Outrage over the classic Montauk 17.

Sorry no video.

Here is a picture of MBL Laboratories' Outrage Number One powered with a Yamaha f115 cruising through icy Eel Pond in Woods Hole Mass. last week. Eel pond is completely frozen over now and is covered with people playing hockey games between the boats!
