Just had a new throttle/drive and a new fishfinder installed on my 15'. What kind of wrap do you use to enclose the throttle cable and transducer wire? Currently they are wrapped in a red perforated type plastic material.

I would rap/protect the wire to the transducer, but not the throttle cables, For some reason these cables seem to fail from time to time, and it makes it harded to change if you cover them, also you should be able to see them to check them out for any cracking or bad spots. If you what to make them look neat you can use some plastic tyes every so offen to keep them together and in line. Use a razor knife to cut off the extra plastic tye, this makes a clean cut and you will not ever cut yourself on one...good luck

I use marine split loom sleeves from Ancor, secured/closed when needed with zip ties. I cover everything to protect from the sub-tropical sun. I use several sleeves for different things. So far all covered look like new and access is easy.

Covered are: steering cable, fuel line, engine harness,12v to console, bilge pump, lighting,VHF antenna cable, water pressure tube, speedometer tube, transducer cable, throttle and shift cables, battery cables to engine. This is on a Sport 15,on her big brother the OFFSHORE 27 all items in the stern well are also wrapped including jackplate harness and trim/tilt exposed cable on the engine swivel bracket.

They are flame retardant and self extinguishing, black with a fine blue stripe. I make smaller branches from the few larger sleeves as I reach the stern to cover individual items.
