Hi guys, I live here on the West coast of Ireland and have a mid 90`s Rage 15 with the 115hp OMC engine, and to say the least it`s breaking my heart, hard to start, smokey, heavy on fuel etc, etc. Whalers are VERY rare here in Ireland and I always go to look at one whenever one comes up for sale, and one just has!! I really value your guys expert opinion on these boats. Could some of you maybe check out an Irish website www.donedeal.ie and type in Boston Whaler into the "search" section. Any feedback would be really appreciated. Thanks, Willie O`Brien, |

Willie, Ever think about converting the Rage to an Outboard? Here's a link from a guy who did just that...

Wille, hard to tell from the posted ad, knowing the model year and actual condition would help determining whether the price is fair. good luck Pat |

That's about $5400 USD. From the photos it looks clean and well maintained. If the motor is good then that is the going rate for a classic 15'. It appears to have not been bottom painted. The interior appears to have some after market add ons. Spent some time in Doolin last November. One night in Galway. Wonderful City. Family in Cork City, Roscommon and Rathmore. Good Luck! |

Thanks Newtauk1 and Pat, The seller reckons the boat has got very little use, and was always stored indoors. I`m always on the lookout for Whalers for sale over here in Ireland, and I seem somehow impulsed to buy any one that comes up for sale on the open market! The guy selling this one seems to think that it`s a mid 90`s,but I would think it`s a mid 80`s super sport 15. Would you agree? My other option would be to import a boat from Florida,as I have a cousin in St. Petes and I have a shipper organised if needs be,who will ship to Ireland for 1,500 euro($2,000 approx.) I`ve seen boats like this on Ebay and his asking price does seem reasonable.... Did you enjoy your stay in Ireland Newtauk1,and did you sink many pints of Guinness?? Again, many thanks. Willie. |

Wonderful trip. Stayed in Doolin and made day trips from there. Spent a night in Galway starting at Sally Long and ending late at Kings Head. Several Guinness, Swithwicks and Carlsburg were had. I proposed to my wife in 1999 in Baltimore (Co. Cork) outside of Casey's (pub/hotel). All my grandparents immigrated in the early 1900's. The O'Leary's from Cork City and the Maguire's from Kerry. They are so many great things to say about the country, the people and the charm that I could not possible type all here. Good luck with your search. John O'Leary |

Looks like a clean boat. Not a bad price for $5,400. I think it would be real hard to find as nice a boat for $3900 here in the states. |
