Hi all,

I didn't want to jump on Sal's thread so I started another.

I am actively in the market for a c.1986-2002 Boston Whaler Montauk in good condition, with reliable power to serve as my trailerable boat. A modern motor and a sound trailer are strongly preferred as are bow and side rails.

The ideal boat would also have good canvas (cover, console cover, Bimini top), cushions (pilot seat, cooler seat, bow cushion and stern seat), and modern electronics. These would be things that I would need to add to make the boat useful for my needs and I factor it into any purchase decision that I make.

I am looking for a Montauk because I currently co-own one with relatives and need a second for my young growing family, it can be comfortably towed by my current vehicle, is in my price range and can fit my garage. I've just missed a few that were great matches recently and am investigating others that may be good foundations for my ideal boat.

I am in the Philadelphia area but can travel a bit for the right boat. I have set aside some funds, have the wife's blessing and am ready to buy.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
Mike

Hello,

I am putting my Montauk back up for sale.
Here is the posting link for my last offering in 2011.
I had some tire-kickers look at it but nobody was serious so I kept her and enjoyed her. I am now more motivated to sell because I have upgraded to an Outrage 22 and now have too many boats.

The 90 HP Evinrude Ocean Pro motor is A#1 reliable and I expect many more trouble-free years from it. I have accumulated about 350 hours total. One battery is dead but the Grp 27 AGM is still strong and reliable. One trailer tire has been replaced with new.
I cannot offer new pics yet because the boat is tucked deep within a storage warehouse and I cannot get to her until about April 15.

Let me know if you are interested. I will make the proper posting with all updates and new pictures when she comes home from storage but can't show her for two more weeks.

$8700

Steve

Sorry,

The link to my previous posting.
FYI - this is a freshwater boat except for Manhattan Whaler runs.

Kind of considering selling mine to upgrade to a bigger Whaler. I looked at quite a few Montauks that didn't meet my requirements. This boat has been garage kept and the gelcoat was head and shoulders better than anything else I looked at. It has a new canvas cover, a console cover, RPS cover, and a Bimini. It has brand new cooler with new cushion, new bow and pilot seat cushions. Bow and side rails. Brand new Garmin gps/fish finder. Original and reliable freshwater Evinrude 90 that runs really strong and well with new jack plate and SS Stiletto prop from Tom. Dual batteries in the console. All teak has been refinished. Great trailer that I would tow anywhere. New VHS and antenna. This is a really nice boat anyone would be proud to own. I have a lot more in it but asking $8800.

Hi Mike,

My 1995 Montauk is for sale in No IL, so I have room for a 23 WA, if I can find one. I have pix I can send.

90 HP Mercury, Mills mooring cover and bimini, new cooler with original cushion, rear seat, ski pylon, 27 gallon tank. Some minor spider cracks.

Ron
