[The combined sidelight rail-mount navigation lamp on my Boston Whaler REVENGER Walk-Through] works, but I've fixed it a bunch of times. Now the captive nuts that allow the screws to clamp it around the bow railing have finally become impossible to fix to the body of the lamp because the plastic is too brittle for glue to hold them. Does anybody know a source for a replacement or a good work around with a new lamp that won't look too cheesy?

I'm planning to replace most of the incandescnet lightbultbs on the boat with LED bulbs where possible.

Take a look at Perko part number 0200BB0DP1.
Best bet would to call or e-mail Chuck Bennett at the Boston Whaler factory.

A conventional combined sidelight lamp could be installed as a replacement to the rail-mounting lamp if a small plate were attached to the bow railing at the peak of the bend at the bow. The plate could be made of stainless steel and tacked onto the railing, or the plate could be made of aluminum or other material and fastened onto the railing mechanically with clamps or screw fasteners in some clever arrangement. If such a plate were added, then any number of combined sidelight lamps could be mounted on the plate.

There is a prior discussion about alternative navigation lighting for the REVENGE W-T which would employ separate sidelights. See

The above prior discussion also mentions alternative for the combined sidelight at the bow to be mounted on a short pole, with the pole base being mounted on a railing.

The above prior discussion also mentions the original rail-mounted lamp was made by Wilcox-Crittenden. I believe that Wilcox-Crittenden was acquired some time ago by Thetford, c.2003. See

Thetford continues to make some marine plumbing and fixtures from Wilcox-Crittenden, but not their marine lighting products. I believe you can only find Wilcox-Crittenden marine lamps as old stock on shelves of retailers or distributors.

Because the combined sidelight rail-mount lamp is made of plastic, perhaps it could be repaired or strengthened with some epoxy resin. Epoxy resin is a very good material for making repairs to plastic components. In the rail-mounting lamp the fastener bases are concealed, so the repair would not have to be done with cosmetics in mind.
