I need to replace my bow nav light bulb. There are no numbers or any writing on the old bulb. I have also extensively searched this site but to no avail. Does anyone know what size etc. ? Thanks, Sport |

Tom, Thanks for the reply. Isn't a PKO0071DP0CLR a double ended festoon bulbs? http://www.theshadconnection.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi?page=60

Yes, the 0071 is double ended festoon type bulb that is used in the OE Whaler bow light on most Whalers up to 17'. It is also used on most small off-the-shelf Perko lights. What year Sport 13 do you have and are you sure the light is OE? |

Threaded? Bayonet? Neither? About what OD on the base? Have you inspected it with a magnifying glass? I couldn't

Chuck & Tom, Thank you for your replies! The boat is a 1976. I do believe that the lamp is OEM. I did what Chuck suggested. I got out a magnifying glass. Here is the bulb that was in my boat: 0057 Product Specs http://www.bulbman.com/index.php?main_page=product_bulb_info& products_id=6731
Coast Guard approved? What else would you recommend? Thanks, Sport

I do not believe the U.S. Coast Guard maintains a list of approved minature electric lightbulbs for use in satisfying the requirements for vessel navigation lighting. |

The earlier style of Bow Lights used a different bulb that the later bayonet type. http://www.whalercentral.com/photogallery.php?photo=340 The early style also had a one piece lens and the later had a two piece. There were also a few variations in different years. That would be a GE #57 or an Ancor #520057. You should be able to find them at any marine store or most auto parts stores. |

While I agree with jimh that the CG doesn't maintain a list of approved bulbs, I do think that when a given nav light is submitted to the CG for approval, the appropriate bulb is speced. Net: you should have the nav light manufacturer's speced
